Typhoon 9 & a Traveling Cake

So what is Typhoon and a Traveling Cake doing together in the same Title????? It sounds like trouble huh....well actually it makes a very good story.
As some of you may know, we had a MAJOR typhoon (hurricane) yesterday and almost everything was shutdown. Yes, I did say ALMOST:) It seems that some public transport systems were still running. Read on.......
I shall name this person Mr. Typhoon- Hot Wheels.
Mr. Typhoon-because he braved the storm to pick up his son's cake all the way from Guangzhou,China. Can we say Super DAD!!!!
Hot Wheels-Because his son's cake had a Hot Wheels picture design.

You see, Mr.Typhoon had no idea that the storm was that serious. When Mr. Typhoon arrived to HK to pick up the cake he realized that he had arrived in the middle of a Typhoon 9. He knew that getting his son's cake would not be possible.
When he contacted us to rearrange the cake pick up, we also found out that Hot Wheel's birthday party was actually this coming Monday and the only time Mr. Typhoon could pick up his cake was over the weekend. For obvious logistic reason's he couldn't pick up the cake on the day of his son's party. Worried that the cake would damage during transport and wouldn't last till Monday, we flash froze the cake, gave him some cake storage instructions and packed it nicely for the long journey across the border to China with an ice pack, wrapped in super seal wrap and snugged nicely in a cake bag. I'm sure Hot Wheels will be in good shape after our Deelite TLC.
Here's a shot of the box in the super seal wrap before packing the cake in the cake bag with ice packs.

Thank You Mr. Typhoon for making a second trip out to pick up your cake. Happy 9th Birthday Brice. This Blog is for You and Mr. Typhoon!

BLING BLING!!!!!

Our week has been filled with lots of Bling so I decided to dedicate this post for all you Blingers out there. Move over Kimura & Puff Daddy cuz Complete Deelite has got some Bling to show:)
Hope these cakes bling up your day:)
Gucci Fan: We created this Gucci bag for one of my students who took our We Luv Cupcakes workshop. We accesorized the bag for her by adding an Iphone.

Tiffany & Co: This 18th Birthday cake was made for sweet Tiffany who requested to have a Tiffany & Co gift box as her special cake design. I thought it was a brilliant idea. Now somebody just needs to open a Jacinta & Co so I can make a cool birthday jewelry box cake for myself:)

Ferrari Fan: Not just any Ferrari was requested for this special birthday, but a 430 Model. We hand sculpted this 430 Ferrari racer for this Luxury car Fan.

Our Deelite Jr. Kids Camp!

Time sure does fly when your having fun. We just completed our final kids summer camp this past week. We spent 4 days decorating candy, cookies, cupcakes and my personal favourite trying my BRAND NEW cupcakes.
We had a great time together and I had a blast doing a cupcake tasting session with the camp-kids. I was a lil nervous as they were my very first guests to try my new flavors:
Mint Choco-Chip and Strawberries & Cream filled cupcake.

Here are the sample bowls I carefully prepped. Before passing the bowls out, I gave a lil lesson on how to properly taste. First sip water to cleanse palette and then try. Yes, I do take this very very seriously:)

Here they are tasting the "GOODIES???" or "YUCKIES?". I'm always more nervous doing tasting with kids because they really don't mind letting you know if something is really awful.
After a very productive discussion and feedback session,.......DRUM ROLLLLLL.....................
the kids absolutely....
Well, why don't I let the bowls speak for itself.

Olympic Spirit!

Hope y'all have been enjoying the Olympics. For those of you who aren't really into it, I HIGHLY recommend at lease seeing the opening ceremony. It was a spectacular show. I missed the live viewing b/c we were having our own Olympics in our decorating room. But I did manage to catch a pre-recorded version and it was SPECTACULAR!!!! (now i gotta figure out how to attach fireworks to my cakes:)

The games have just started so its not too late to get into the Olympic spirit. Give us a holler and we'll be more than happy to whip up some yummy Olympic treats for ya.

Here are a few of the goodies we made on 8-8-08.

Lucas Tse's 1st Birthday

Lucas Tze had 2 very special 1st birthday celebrations this past week. We had the joy of being apart of both celebrations.

For his first party, we decorated this jolly clown cake personalized with his name.

And for his second party we decorated our famous 3D Elmo cake accompanied with personalized photo cookie treats for his friends and family.

Look at Lucas's smile on these cookies. Doesn't he have the same adorable smile as his birthday buddy Elmo? Now that's one happy birthday boy:)

Simply Irresistable Wedding!

We created this 3 tier wedding cake topped with Fresh tulips and violets for a grand wedding. We personalized the cake with the couples family crest.
As requested, the colors chosen for the cake matched the the decor and bridesmaids dresses.
The vibrant and soft colors of the flowers made the cake simply irresistible.
