Your Dream Wedding Cake!

HI Everyone:)
Merry Christmas. Happy New Year and Kung Hei Fat Choy!!!!
Hope you all had a memorable 2016. We are well into 2017 and I can't believe January has gone and Valentines is upon us:)

We are feeling the love here in Deelite. We have been busy making  some beautiful Wedding cakes. We are love struck with all the love stories from our fab couples. I thought I'd share some tips on how to order your dream wedding cake. I hope y'all find this helpful and if you are already married go out and surprise your husband or wife with a cake. Bring back those wedding bell memories:) xoxo

5 Tips on picking your dream wedding cake design

Tip #1: Pick your color scheme and stick to it

Tip #2: After picking your color scheme: choose style of cakes  that interest you. Look at all of them as a whole then stream line them to 3-5 design finishes which you like. The more focused you are with your looks we will have of your desired look. If you like 50 looks your cake will look like a lot of different ideas put together. Kind of like putting all your favourite jewellery pieces all on. They are all pretty individually but all together may look like a garage sale. Allow each design to shine.

Tip #3: No matter how big or small your budget is, Wedding cake designs are fluid and we will be able to create something to fit your budget. Ask us about our rental or fake cakes with a cake cutting area on the cake. This will cut the cost of your cake down substantially.  For floral cakes, handmade gumpaste flowers take time and is very pricey due to the time it takes to make each flower. Opt to use fresh flowers you are using for your venue. This will really coordinate your cake with the venue perfectly and also bring the price of your cake down substantially. Note: For fresh flowers give us the best quality and extra stems. The nicer your flowers the better your cake will look.

Tip 4: Make sure your wedding planner / venue manager plans the location of the cake table. Especially for big cakes, it is very important that the cake has a place to put on immediately upon arrival to prevent any cake wrecks.

Tip 5: Enjoy your cake! you are going to have a fabulous day filled with many many great memories. Don't forget to take a breather, cut your cake and enjoy your first taste of cake as Mr. & Mrs:)

xoxo
