First Day of Kids Camp

Told you I"d be back before a month:)
Today we had a marvelous time at our first day of Deelite Summer Kids camp.
Everyone was just so excited to get decorating and so was I. 
 I had blast watching Mommy and Kiddy bonding while getting creative. Good Ole fashion family fun:)
The best part was just watching all the kids get creative with their pops and expressing their personal style.
Kiddy's who were less than 8 years old came with there mommy's . 7 Years and up got to bring a best friend.
Here are our best tween friends rolling their cake pops. 

 I could tell my lil decorating stars could not wait to get their hands into the sprinkles so I tried by best to keep my demos short sweet and simple.

Happy Rainbow cakes and Deelite Renovation!

Its been what feels like a million years I know. Trust me when I say this i can't believe it has been almost a month since I"ve blogged it only felt like yesterday I promise:)

Renovation is well on its way and I'm so excited because we can finally see some visual progress!!! EEEEEEEEK. See...

We''ve also been very busy prepping our retail floor for our Grand renovation Sale. Yup you heard right, I'm not done with renovation yet its still going.......
After 6th floor we will be busy renovating the 2nd floor and when we're done with the 2nd floor ..........Yup you guessed right we'll be renovating the 3rd floor and when we're done with the 3rd floor we will be ALL DONE. Unfortunately, we 're not at the half way point yet so I won't spend too much time day dreaming about the end of the renovation:)

We've also been doing some really fun Rainbow theme party cakes. There has been a trend of one rainbow part after another so I thought I'd share some of our latest Rainbow creations:)
For a Lalaloopsy Doll extravaganza celebration we made this theme birthday cake with matching Lalaloopsy cookies too. We have a video to show you so I'll hold back on the cookies for another post:)
Inside of the cake is also Rainbow color.

 A classic rainbow celebration for the Young at heart!

 This is an oldie but a goody. We first started to do this design about 4 years ago. It has been one of our most popular cake since.

 Luv the Rainbow text on this cake.

 You can't go wrong with this classic  rainbow spangle cake:)

 For a 21st birthday celebration we made a giant Rainbow unicorn cake. I luved doing the Rainbow unicorn hair. We were so happy to get a special email from Unicorn fan.

 Also one of our most popular cutout cakes. Here's a Rainbow that will last as long as you want it to. And then gobble gobble gobble hmmmmm happy rainbow tummies:)

Coming this Fall!

We have been doing some really exciting things for Fall.  I know summer hasn't even started and here I am talking about Fall. Trust me you're gonna wanna know about our exciting news. 

We have been busy renovating....no we're not moving. We have been busy renovating another floor in the same building as our store. EXCITING news huh!!! The new floor will be a brand new cake class studio. 

Many of you have asked why I'm not doing any of our Deelite Workshops this summer. Now you know the reason. I"ve been busy trying to get our class studio completed. By Fall all our Deelite Workshops will be in full swing and you will get to enjoy them in our new classroom too:)Happiness!!!!

More goody news! We have been busy designing some really exciting classes to launch this fall. I won't tell yáll what classes just yet. Trust me, you're gonna love them all. I will let you know very very soon.

I recently had a wonderful Perfect Box Cake class. It was great working with the students and seeing their confidence shine.  All their cakes turned out Fabulous!

 The students are well on their way now. All the nerves of covering their own box cake are gone and they are really enjoying putting on the finishing touches to their cake.

Tis the Season for Corporate Events!!!

FINALLY summer is here!!!! We love sunshine!!!! When summer starts it also means the start of many corporate celebrations..WOOOHOOOO...

Here we go

We baked over 800 of these scrumpcious chocolate cookies and made them into edible 

American Express Centurian cards Luv it!!!

 It gets even better, we packed the cookies with special American Express Centurian ribbons so that they can  them up as favors:) Credit cards never looked & tasted so good:)

 

A spangle cake for Amadeus to celebrate thier success is providing excellent IT solutions for tourism industry.

 We made 400 of these yummy logo cupcakes for Arcadis. It was there 125th anniversary and the best way to celebrate is with a SUPER GIANT Cupcake tower.

 

 DBS also got some logo cupcakes with this Giant logo cupcake to go with

 For all those preppy dudes out there, Brooks Brothers launched their fabulous new collection with our matching cupcakes and cookies.

 Don't worry we also got something for all you fashionable ladies out there. Roger Vivier also launched thier new line of bags with some logo cupcakes and signature handbag cupcakes.

 

And we've been getting sporty too:)

 For Fox News and Sports we made these colorful logo cupcakes for a nice summer kickoff celebration!

Last but certainly not least, yesterday we got to go set up a very special cupcake tower for Xtep's 5th listing anniversary. Xtep is a publicly traded sportwear company and has over 7,500 retail outlets all over China. Now thats alot of excercise:)

 

Congratulations to all of  the companies who celebrated many achievements. We had so mach fun making your creations and so happy to share our deelite with you:)

Deelited to be Deelited!

We have had the joy of   being apart of hundreds of celebrations.

We have done cakes for people since day one in 2004 and some of the kids who are 4 are now 14 or off to college. Some of the couples who we've done wedding cakes for are celebrating their children's parties and we get to be apart of that too.

And often times we are apart of the entire families celebrations: Mother's Day, Fathers Day, Christmas etc. 

It truly is so wonderful to have grown together with so many families. 

And we love hearing back from theme too. 

One very  memorable family is "Dina's Family" Dina loves her children and every year she loves designing and creating a new theme for her children's birthday party.
You have probably seen many of her cakes, cookies, cupcakes & balloons posted on our blog or facebook.

"You have truly truly out done yourselves, your cake was spectacular and there wasn't a single person in the room that was not blown away by its design, and color and everything- best cake I've ever seen, and as you cut it it looked even more special. This year we did an unforgettable cake for Boudy. I love that the subject of the email  was "Look at his face".....

 And for his Younger Brother Zam Zam we made a fabulous Curious George cake. 

Zam Zam loves Mcqueen from Cars as well so we incorporated it with  Curious George theme.

Another Deelite Kid story. We have  been celebrating with James ever since he turned 7 (2004). In fact his birthday party was the first ever Deelite Children's Activity party.  And now James is going to turn 17 and almost off to college.........Seriously time flies and I'm forever 18:)

I"ve managed to find his 14th and 15th birthday cake and I'm sure if I keep looking I''ll find more from his younger days.  

Every year his mom Mrs.L emails me and says ...."Its that time again. Time Flies....

Here is one of my favorite Deelite emails

"Time does fly, since the 7th birthday, you have been making James' cakes every year. The most memorable ones are on his 13th at EA Experiences at the Peak (closed down already!!), and his 15th birthday. James will be going to university in the UK this summer, he is very tall now, almost 6 foot!

Last but certainly not least. As you all probably figured out by now, we love making wedding cakes. What we love even more is when we hear back from the  Bride and Groom. It is always very special because after a wedding I understand that the Bride & Groom are very busy settling in and enjoying their Honeymoon. So when we hear back from our Deelite couples it is really a great treat and we love to see pictures from the actual wedding day.
You have probably seen our  "Meowy Me" wedding cake.  It was recently also featured in SCMP with our Dream Wedding cake and Over the Rainbow Cupcake Tower:)

 

Our Meowy Me couple was over the moon with their wedding cake and we got a fabulous photo from the bride & groom.

Deelited students & New Cupcake Flavors:)

We've had a fun filled week with our classes:)

We hosted a really fun cake decorating activity party for a special birthday girl. 

 We received a very special email from her mom:)

"Hello! I had my daughter's 13th birthday party with you this afternoon, and I want to say a huge thank-you.....it was fantastic!Your staff are superb, from the moment we arrived to the very end. From the staff who greeted us in the store to the class teachers, (Erica and her assistant!) everyone was friendly, helpful and very welcoming.I have 4 daughters so have had many many different birthday party experiences, but this one exceeded all others. The girls learnt so much in the class and are all very proud of their cupcakes.....even I learnt how to make a fondant rose!Thank-you so much for a truly wonderful afternoon.

 We also had a great time with our Couture Handbag students:) As you can see all the students were so proud of their piece of art. Well done!!!! you should all be very proud of yourselves. What was even sweeter was that one of the students made the bag and gave it to one of her friends for her birthday. Can we say AWWWWWWWW!

Have you noticed, we've changed up our Cupcake Menu and gave it a bit of a make over. 

We needed to give it a new look after almost 10 years and we have been getting some great feedback:)

Our Banana Toffee Crunch cupcake was such a huge hit, we decided to make it a permanent flavor so now you have 16 flavors to choose from.

And we've also added a new Flavor of the Month menu. For May we are introducing S'mores Crunch
To think, way back in 2004 we only started with 2 flavors Classic Chocolate & Classic Vanilla.
