Marie & Ernie's 9 Tier Wedding Cake!


 

About a month ago we made an elegant 9 tier wedding cake for Marie Zhuge & Ernie Suek's wedding extravaganza. They had 1,600 guests attending and really wanted the cake to match their fantasy wedding event.
We had an amazing time doing this cake as it involved everything that we LUV to do. We LUV wedding cakes, Peonies, Scroll work and most of all ROMANCE. 
We are all hopeless romantics here in Deelite:) And if you're not, we hope this video of the cake will soften your heart like buttercream:)

Julie Bashore Day 2 & 3

Day 2 & 3 of Julie Bashore's class was action packed with glitter, stenciling, embossing, isomalt and tiered cakes. 
Here Julie is demonstrating her fabulous technique of applying glitter embossing texture on fondant.

 On the third and final day, all the students designed their very own cake and executed the design onto their final tiered cake. 

So much time and effort were put into their final cakes, I was so impressed by all their individual style and designs.

Julie Bashore Day 1 at Deelite!

We have been so excited to have Julie Bashore here. Today is the first day of her 3 day Course and it has been a day filled with a wealth of great cake decorating techniques.
Students learned how to cover their cakes with Fondant using a special mat technique which enables students to cover thier cakes quickly with flawless results and thin fondant finish.
I loved this technique and found it so helpful as it cuts your covering time by half, lessens sweetness of the cake as you use less fondant. How brilliant is that!!!!
All the students covered their cakes perfectly smooth in less than 5 minutes. UHMAZING!!!!
Another fabulous technique taught was embossing on fondant with personalized texture. Further expanding creative options for students to decorate with one of a kind designs that can make their cakes stand out and achieve a one of a kind look.
And also learning how to use the fondant crimpers to make one of a kind designs.

More to come :) I can't wait to see all the students final cakes!

We had a blast decorating cupcakes with the students from Christian Alliance International School.

As you can see, they were all naturally very creative

Julie Bashore coming to Deelite!


Master Confectioner, Julie Bashore has an award winning thirty-year background in Culinary & Confectionery Arts and shares her talent by teaching around the world. Julie studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Salisbury Rhodesia; studied and taught at Fabilo International School of Confection in Lucerne, Switzerland; was accredited to the Swiss Chef’s Association and taught at Butler’s Wharf Chef’s School in London, England. She has also written numerous articles for industry publications including Modern Baking, American Cake Decorating and the Retail Bakers Association of America.

Julie is also a famed champion of TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off challenge and is presently the CEO and founder of Sugar Arts Institute.

The Ultimate Tiered Cake Seminar is for decorators who desire to develop a wealth of different skills and techniques to build on. This seminar is highly recommended for decorators who already have the fundamentals but want to take their skills to another level. The focus of this seminar is to enlarge the decorator's depth of creativity by enhancing their skills with different approaches to design and decorate a cake.

The final 3 tier cake project completed will be an interpretation of each decorator's own design and application of the techniques and skills taught.The aim of the Artist Instructor is to show all participants a step by step method for them to acquire the skills and techniques taught.

So Excited for Easter!!!

We're hopping with excitement here for Easter:) Easter = cute bunny treats= spring has FINALLY ARRIVED= sunny days are here to stay and cold weather will soon be gone! Wooooooooooooooooo HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
